Overview

Retroficiency's Virtual Energy Assessment (VEA) solution accurately identifies no- and low-cost operational and system retrofit recommendations without ever visiting a building. Requiring just a building address and 12 months of historical energy consumption interval data?, VEA employs sophisticated data analytics to spot Energy Conservation Indicators™ (ECIs) - actionable recommendations related to lighting, heating, cooling, building controls and more - with associated energy savings.

How it works

Virtual Energy Assessment delivers operational and retrofit recommendations by leveraging an extensive database of commercial building models and advanced data analytics. Using a proprietary matching engine, VEA forms a unique weather-normalized reference model for each building and compares it to the building's actual performance to determine overall dollar and energy savings estimates.

VEA then disaggregates building end use loads - such as heating, cooling and lighting - and identifies suboptimal usage patterns - such as excessive unoccupied energy use, simultaneous heating and cooling and chiller inefficiencies - to determine the drivers of a building's inefficiency.

AEA allows auditors to input the building information they have available and further refine their recommendations as they verify specific building characteristics - streamlining data input, making sophisticated ECM calculations and evaluating thousands of retrofit recommendations along the way.

Automated Energy Audit takes building asset data? information as it is available, and based on data from tens of thousands of real-world energy audits, makes accurate inferences about a building's energy systems and builds detailed energy models of the specific building. AEA then continually evaluates thousands of potential retrofit and operational opportunities through its expanding proprietary database of Energy Conservation Measures.
